ExtendSim Student 2026

ExtendSim Student is designed for students building simulation models for coursework and academic projects. With ExtendSim Student, you can:

• Build, save, and analyze small models of up to 75 blocks.
• Run models interactively, modify settings, view animations, and save simulation results.
• Access advanced ExtendSim features, including Python integration, optimization, scenario management, built-in databases, and custom block development.
• Use all ExtendSim libraries, including Item, Value, Rate, Reliability, and more.
• Create or modify small models using scripting, including moving blocks on a worksheet.
• Print model worksheets, block dialogs, and other model information.
• Run larger models in RunTime mode with animation and results viewing. (Settings, saved results, and printing are not available for larger models opened in RunTime mode.)

Note: If your university is an ExtendSim Adopter, you may qualify for additional discounts. Check with your professor to determine your eligibility.

Student License Requirements and Limitations

• The models you build are limited to a maximum of 75 blocks.
• ExtendSim Student opens all models with an "ExtendSim Student" watermark on the model worksheet. Models created in ExtendSim Student will maintain that watermark when opened in other ExtendSim licenses.
• Scripting cannot be used to run models remotely.
• This version is licensed for your personal use on a single computer and may not be shared with others.
• ExtendSim Student must be installed on a physical Windows device, not on a virtual machine. If you’re using a Macintosh computer, use an emulator, such as Parallels, to run Windows software and install ExtendSim.
• The Student version may not be used for commercial purposes, including consulting engagements or research funded by a private company or government organization.
• Technical support is limited to installation and activation issues. There is no upgrade path from ExtendSim Student.
• ExtendSim Student includes a one-year license term that expires 365 days after activation.
• An internet connection is required to activate ExtendSim Student. If automatic activation is unavailable at your current location, move the device to a location with internet access. Manual activation is not available for Student licenses.
• Models built and saved in a Trial version of ExtendSim cannot be opened in the Student version. ExtendSim Student can only open models built in an activated Model Developer Edition license or from another Student version.
• Launching multiple instances of ExtendSim using Multicore Analysis is not available in ExtendSim Student.
• A Trial version of ExtendSim CANNOT be converted into a Student version. And the Activation Key you receive when purchasing a Student version will NOT activate a Trial version.
• ExtendSim Student is only available here through the ExtendSim Store.

System Requirements

Because simulation can be computationally intensive, we recommend using a computer with a fast 64-bit processor and adequate memory. For best performance, use the fastest CPU available within your budget.

What You'll Receive After Purchase

Once you’ve completed your purchase, you will receive three emails from us:

1. "ExtendSim Order #050..." containing your invoice and purchase details.
2. "ExtendSim Download & Activation Details" containing a secure link to download your ExtendSim package, along with:
• ExtendSim Student installer.
• Installation Instructions.
• Frequently Asked Questions.
3. "Your ExtendSim Activation Key" containing the Activation Key for your license.

Student Activation Process

To provide immediate access to ExtendSim, your download package includes a temporary Activation Key valid for 10 days.

After your purchase has been processed, we will generate a permanent Student Activation Key and send it to you in a separate email. Instructions for replacing your temporary activation with your permanent Activation Key will be included.
